"Don't Ya Think We Oughta Know By Now?"

I was really challenged by Pastor Steven Furtick's blog today.

It hit the nail on the head.

I will quote him here. Hope he doesn't mind!

The Lifetime of the Opportunity.

“The opportunity of a lifetime must be seized in the lifetime of the opportunity.”Leonard Ravenhill

"Every opportunity has an expiration date. Exceptional people, churches, and businesses possess the agility to move at the speed of God. This usually means merging into oncoming traffic at breakneck speed.
A lot of people I know are more fearful of making a wrong move than making no move at all.* Not me. I’ve been alive long enough to know that if I just sit at the intersection after God has given a green light, He’ll only honk a few times before He passes me by in the other lane. Doesn’t mean He’ll stop loving me or stop using me. It just means that that opportunity is gone. Forever.
If you are currently considering an great, godly, risky opportunity, consider this: The cost of missing out can be greater than the cost of messing up.The opportunity of a lifetime must be seized in the lifetime of the opportunity."

*emphasis mine.

Thanks for the reminder. Our pastor often says that his regrets are those things he didn't do rather than those he did.

Life is short but God is sweet said...

I know someone who has stepped out like you have said however the church (her own church) is blocking her from doing kingdom work so my heart is hurting for her because we as the body can be our own worst enemy at times. Please pray for my friend. God knows who she is so a name is not important. Thanks Lauren and have a great day.

We have to keep going for it!

Listening to the Lord, risking rejection, and doing whatever...despite what others may think!

Thanks for your prayers. Things are moving in the right direction for my friend and the church is starting to come around and support her and where God is moving her.
