Honorable Hero.

Petty Officer Michael Monsoor died in September 2006.

Today he posthumously received the Congressional Medal of Honor.

The coolest part is the fact that this man lived out John 15:13.

You see, he had a grenade thrown at him in Iraq, and although he could have run the other direction, he placed his body on top of the live ammunition, protecting fellow American and Iraqi soldiers.

The heroic nature is not so much within the act itself, but the instantaneous reaction this awesome young man had to the grenade. I pray that his family is comforted by the bravery and incredible regard he showed for the lives of his brothers.

"Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends." [John 15: the message]
